Our third-year CDM student Fikret Başar Kaya was at the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival

Our third-year CDM student Fikret Başar Kaya participated as a Young Jury at the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival held on April 7 - 18, 2023!

At the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival organized by İKSV this year, students from the cinema departments between the ages of 18 - 35 residing in Turkey evaluated international feature films in the Young Masters category and gave the Young Master Award to a director. The young jury members participated in all the events of the festival as future film professionals and communicated with the jury members and film professionals. Fikret Başar Kaya, a third-year student from the Department of Cinema and Digital Media, participated in the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival as a member of the 7-member young jury.

Fikret had previously won screenings and selections in many national and international festivals such as Luma Short Film Festival and Story Student Documentary Film Festival with his film "Men Counting Their Beads", which he shot within the scope of CDM 202: Theory and Practice of Moving Images II.
